One Day, One Time Volunteer
Want to help the zoo but can't commit long-term? Alexandria Zoo welcomes corporate teams, clubs, and individuals for high-impact, one-time volunteer projects! Assist our staff during major events like Zoo Boo or help us tackle vital grounds maintenance. It's a fantastic way to team-build and provide a valuable gift of your time to the zoo.

Zoo Crew (On-going Volunteer)
Members of our volunteer team enhance our daily operations and ensure every visitor has an engaging experience. By sharing your time and skills, you play a key role in supporting vital conservation initiatives and maintaining a thriving environment for both our guests and our wildlife.
Zoo Crew members are required to remain active in the program, committing to volunteer at least 36 hours per year. Opportunities include Grounds Assist, Zoo Greeter, Commissary Assist, Hospital Assist, Building B Host, and Events.

Docent
Through interactive talks and educational programs, help connect visitors with wildlife, inspiring a deeper appreciation for nature. Assist zoo staff with education programs such as on-site animal encounters, field trip and outreach programs, tours, birthday parties, classes, and events.
