Train Ride

FIRST RIDE 9:30 AM | LAST RIDE 4:45 PM

Climb aboard the Bayou Le Zoo Choo Choo for a relaxing 10-minute journey around the perimeter of the zoo. The train runs every 15 minutes, weather permitting. Tickets are required for ages 2 & up and can be purchased at the main entrance and gift shop. Our train is wheelchair accessible. Please see the conductor for assistance.

Zootique Gift Shop

OPEN 9 AM - 5 PM

Discover a jungle of treasures from wild gifts to unforgettable souvenirs for animal lovers of all ages. Explore our collection of animal-themed clothing, huggable stuffed animals, beautiful jewelry, engaging toys, fun-filled games, educational books, and so much more. Drinks and snacks also available for purchase.

Palm Cafe

SUN - FRI 10 AM - 3 PM | SAT 10 AM - 4:30 PM

Tame your wildest cravings at the Palm Cafe, the Alexandria Zoo's go-to spot for tasty food and refreshing drinks! Our menu features a variety of tasty meals, convenient grab-and-go snacks and treats, and ice-cold beverages.

A friendly reminder: To protect our animal residents, straws and lids are not allowed on zoo grounds. Thank you for helping us keep our animals safe!

Fish Food

Add a splash of interaction to your visit! Head over to our koi pond and enjoy the unique experience of feeding our colorful koi. Specially formulated fish food is available for purchase exclusively at the Zootique Gift Shop.

Discovery Cart

Join us at 9:30 AM in front of the Land of the Jaguar Temple for our daily Discovery Cart. Get an up-close look at biofacts as you learn fascinating facts about wildlife. You may even meet one of our animal ambassadors!

Vending

You'll find quick access to cold beverages at our main entrance vending machines. Need a little more to keep you going? Our vending room, conveniently located next to the playground, offers a full array of refreshing drinks and satisfying snacks to power your wild day out.

Rentals

We offer strollers and wagons for rent to help you navigate the zoo with little ones or your belongings. Wheelchairs are available free of charge (a photo I.D. is required). Limited availability on a first come, first serve basis. Motorized wheelchairs or scooters are unavailable.

Playground

Designed for adventurers aged 5 to 12 years old, our playground features slides, monkey bars, and plenty of space to climb and play. It's a great spot for parents to relax while the kids have a wild time!

Picnic Areas

You are welcome to bring food and beverages into the Zoo and enjoy them at one of our picnic areas. Tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Personal grills, alcoholic drinks and open fires are not allowed at the Zoo. Please leave drinking straws and glass products at home.
