Bayou Le Zoo Choo Choo

Bayou Le Zoo Choo Choo is the Alexandria Zoo's miniature train. The train runs everyday, weather permitting, from March through December. The last ride is at 4:45 pm.

The train operates during Holiday Light Safari. During the months of January and February the train only operates on weekends.

Gift Shop

On the prowl for a unique gift?
Visit the Gift Shop at the Alexandria Zoo and find items for all ages. From animal themed clothing and huggable stuffed animals, to beautiful jewelry, toys and games, zoo videos, educational books and more! You'll find something for everyone, both young and old.

No admission required to shop. The Alexandria Zoo Gift Shop is sponsored by FOTAZ and all proceeds help support the Zoo.

Open everyday 10 am to 5 pm. January and February -- seasonal, weather permitting. Hours are subject to change.

Palm Cafe

Have an appetite as big as a lion? Stop by the Palm Cafe at the center pavilion. Whether you're in the mood for a hamburger, plate of nachos or a cool treat, you'll find it here.

Concessions are contracted, operating during the spring, summer, and fall months, and also during special events or high visitor weekends. Scheduling is subject to change.

Picnic areas are also available next to the playground. For the safety of our animals, straws and lids are not allowed in the zoo.
