For Kids - Do You Know?

REDUCE.
If you can reduce the materials you consume you will not only create less waste, you also won't need to worry about what to do with all the things that you buy when you are done with them. And, it means that by using less first, we help to conserve valuable resources like water and energy.

REUSE.
Reuse is a great way to make the most of the things that you do buy. Once you no longer need or want something, pass it on! Buying or trading vintage, refurbished and used items is a fun way to get cool stuff while preventing pollution and saving the earth's precious resources.

RECYCLE.
Recycling is a process whereby a material has been collected, separated, re-manufactured, and purchased as a new product only to continue the cycle again. It conserves resources by keeping them in circulation, reducing the depletion of non-renewable resources.

RETHINK.
Rethink is probably the most important of the R's. To "rethink" means that we should consider our options and think about their impact on the environment. Next time you go to the store or the mall, take a step back and examine the images that surround you. Rethink the things you want to buy: do you need them?
