Field TripsAnimal House PresentationsAnimal presentations are available throughout the year and cover topics such as basic classification, adaptations, Louisiana, or endangered species. Our staff can design programs to meet your specific needs.Any age group can request a 30 minute animal presentation in our Animal House. Your class will be able to view the education animal collection in the Animal House and have an "up-close" animal encounter. These animal presentations will be supervised by one of our education assistants. Schedule presentations with the Education Department by calling 473-1143, Ext. 6815. You can schedule your field trip to the Zoo through our Front Office but the animal presentations must be scheduled throught the Education Department. Due to the high volume of school visitors, especially during March, April and May, programs must follow a strict time schedule and are generally scheduled on the hour and half-hour. Class size in the Animal House is limited to 60. Larger groups need to reserve additional time slots. Please remind students that the Animal House is the home of animals. "Indoor voices" and a calm atmosphere are required for the animals. The building can be closed at any time if animals appear stressed or circumstances arise requiring closure.
