The Basics

Party times are scheduled on Saturday for either:
10 am - 12 pm
2 pm - 4 pm

Basic Price:
Non-FOTAZ: $275
FOTAZ Members: $225

For children ages 4 (turning 5) and up.

Basic Party Package includes:

  • Admission to the Zoo for 20 (adults and children on the day of your party)
    Additional guests may attend your party for the fee of $5 per child or adult. The maximum number of children is 20.

  • Guests will meet outside the Education Center Gate at the front of the zoo. Fifteen minutes before your party, a birthday party greeter will meet you and your guests at the education gate entrance, give out the Birthday Party Guest wrist bands, and escort the party to the Education Pavillion.

  • Two hours are reserved for you in the Education Building/Pavillion area from either 10 am - 12 pm or 2 pm - 4 pm.

  • The only item you need to bring for the party set up is the cake. Drinks, plates, napkins, utensils, and decorations including table covers and party favors will be furnished by the zoo. We set-up and clean-up before and after the party.

  • We furnish invitations for you to send out.

  • The party will include a train ride, feeding the fish, a visit to an animal, and an education presentaion you selected from your list.

  • One reserved parking space at the education gate entrance for you.

Booking Policies

  • Reservations should be made at least two weeks prior to your party and will be taken on first come first served basis

  • Call the Alexandria Zoo Education office at
    (318) 441-6810 to check availability of the date and time you are considering for your party.

  • A $50 non-refundable deposit is due upon booking your party. We will only finalize the reservation on the pavillion when we have received this deposit. Please pay at the Alexandria Zoo office as soon as possible.
    Your date and time is not definite without a deposit and they can be booked by someone else.

  • After you have paid your $50 deposit a party coordinator will contact you to set a time to meet to go over the particulars of your party and give you the party packet which includes your invitations. You will be given a copy of our policies and party agreement to sign at that time.

  • Final payment of the balance for your party must be received in the zoo office by the Wednesday prior to your party. At this time the final guest count is due.

  • Zoo parties are held rain or shine, notice of cancellation must be received in writing by noon of the Monday prior to the party. The $50 deposit will not be refunded.

Party Tips

  • Allow 30 minutes prior to party time to bring in your cake and assemble guests at the side Education entrance gate.

  • If a member of your party is running late, the front office will call the Education Building and relay a message for a representative from your group to go and escort your guest to the party location.

  • PARTIES ARE HELD RAIN OR SHINE and your party will start on time.

Please Note

  • Balloons, glass containers, plastic drink lids or straws, styrofoam, or alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed in the Alexandria Zoo.

  • Smoking is NOT allowed on Zoo property.
  • All guests are expected to follow zoo rules.
