- Serve as key to numerous biomedicines for human afflictions
- Produce interesting sounds in their habitats
- Are subjects for children’s stories, fairy tales, songs, etc.

8 Ways we can help FROGS and AMPHIBIANS
- Look, listen and learn; educate yourself and your family about amphibians.
- Visit the Alexandria Zoo and check out the new amphibian displays being added to the Education Building. Also visit other AZA accredited zoos and aquariums.
- Create amphibian friendly environments by providing clean water, hiding places and insects to eat.
- Don’t pollute! Keep garbage, chemicals, and non-native plants and animals out of the natural environment.
- Be a responsible pet owner. Discourage your canine or feline family members from pestering wildlife – especially birds and amphibians.
- Conserve water at home, school, and work. Use collected rainwater for gardens and plants.
- Reduce the use of fossil fuels (oil, coal, and natural gas); drive less, use less energy, or choose renewable sources of energy.
- Be an AMPHIBIAN CHAMPION. Donate to the Zoo’s conservation fund. Be aware of legislation affecting wildlife and wild places.
