The Alexandria Zoological Park strives to:
- Provide the citizens of Alexandria and Central Louisiana with recreational and educational experiences while viewing an organized collection of animals.
- Increase services to our community by development of new educational programs and to continue with the conservation of endangered species.
- Develop research or cooperative endeavors with other agencies such as colleges and universities.
- Increase attendance through the implementation of the Zoo's adopted master plan, thereby insuring an increase in revenue and providing better living conditions for our zoo animals.
- Uphold the standards set forth by the USDA and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) for animal husbandry, thereby insuring our continued accreditation by the AZA.
