Please note that only persons paid for by your purchase order are admitted at group rate. All other individual sales are full price. A copy of your P.O. must be sent to the zoo office at least one business day in advance of your visit.

Education programs are held indoors at the Zoo's Education Building unless the number of program attendees exceeds 60. Programs for groups of over 60 persons will be held outdoors at the Festival Plaza stage.

Group Rates

Group Rate Admission: $4.50
Group Rate Train Tickets: $1.00

The Zoo does not charge tax. In order to receive these rates, the following rules apply:

  • Groups must consist of at least 15 individuals. Group rates are available for schools, churches, assisted care facilities, and other organizations (does not include family groups).
  • Everyone in your group must pay, including children under 4, senior citizens, and FOTAZ members. For school groups, chaperones must pay. The bus driver and one teacher per class are admitted free but everyone has to purchase a train ticket in order to ride. Additional teachers and aids must pay admission.
  • If more than one class from your school is visiting, please have one representative from your school pay for everyone in the group. Please do not pay by individual class. Group representatives should come to the gate with an accurate count and money in order.
  • Payment may be in the form of a check (school or personal) or cash. The Zoo does accept purchase orders but we do require a minimum of one week's notice. A copy of the purchase order must be faxed to the zoo the day before your visit. Purchase orders presented on the day of your visit will not be honored.
  • It is left to The discretion of the group how payment is made for parents and other chaperones that are not employees of a school or institution. Persons that are part of your group but pay indiviudally must pay full price.

Reservation Confirmation

A confirmation of your reservation will be sent to you by email. Your visit is not reserved unless you receive this form. A confirmation form will be sent within 1-2 business days after your request is received. Please present the confirmation form to the admissions office on the day of your visit when you pay.
